The investment of the future is autographs. Whilst the FTSE-100 index fell 4% between 1997 and 2007, an independent study into the value of autographs has shown an incredible 256% rise! This rise in prices has continued since 2002.

The independent study, called the SG100, shows the top 100 autographs based on market value in Britain. This extract above shows the value of a “Beatles” signed photo and set of signatures between 1997 and 2007. With global stock markets continuing to struggle, the attractiveness of investing in autographed memorabilia is becoming more and more popular.

For investors, the interest in autographed memorabilia is two fold. An autograph has the potential to rise in value as the list shows, but, unlike stocks and shares, you get to own a historical piece of memorabilia relating to your favourite star!
