Henry VIII Original Signature
- Original signature of King Henry VIII
- Approximate overall dimensions: 21.5 x 33"
- Magnificent framing presentation with reversed antiqued gold frame complemented by black double mount and antiqued gold fillet.
- Certificate of authenticity
We offer a significant opportunity to acquire the signature of one of the most famous kings in British history. A former museum piece, we acquired the signature in 2007. This is a fine example of Henry VIII's signature - bold and clear - taken from a manuscript and measuring 3 x 6 cm. The condition is remarkable for it's age.
To further enhance the presentation we have included an original copper engraving of Henry VIII, taken from "Heads of Illustrious Persons of Great Britain", on beautiful chain-laid paper, illustrated byJacobus Houbraken and printed in London by John and Paul Knapton - dated 1750.
An extremely rare item.
Henry VIII (28 June 1491 – 28 January 1547) is one of the most famous kings in English history. He was the second Tudor monarch and was well-known for having six wives. His break with the papacy in Rome established the Church of England and began the Reformation.
